We are people of many interests! Passionate about technical communication, we also divide our interests among hobbies, family, and volunteerism. Short biographies are provided next.

• Diana Ost. Diana has worked in numerous industries as a technical communicator. She has also worked as a business analyst, software tester, and technical writing instructor  (University of South Florida). With a degree in Fine Art, Diana's interests range from painting and photography to music and blogging to Website design. Diana is also a member of the Society for Technical Communication, and is the Outreach Director for the Austin Chapter.

  • Diana's work in freelance photography (weddings, band photography, nature, and architecture) has garnered awards, including a blue ribbon at the Texas State Fair. Check out the photo at the top of the TechComTopics blog--that is some of Diana's work.

  • During a stint in public affairs for a US Government agency, Diana was the agency photographer (still and video) and wrote press releases, newsletters, and video scripts. She interviewed subjects on camera and did video production.

  • A recorded musician, Diana performs with her husband Dan in the duo Flatlander Folk. In 2007, they performed at the Florida Folk Festival with Something Special and Charley Groth. They completed their first CD in 2006, Back to Our Roots.  

• Katherine Stark.  Katherine Stark has been in the technical writing field for more than 20 years, including 8 years as a consultant for various corporations (Eli Lilly, Verizon, and more).  Katherine has the following credits:

  • Katherine has extensive experience managing writing projects and developing online help files, online documents, end-user guides, operations manuals, system guides, and training guides.

  • Katherine's interests in crafting and "cropping" for picture albums has prompted her own part-time business as a Creative Memories consultant. She has a real knack for helping anyone get those treasured photos beautifully organized, and has great ideas. 

  • She and her husband, Dan, have recently relocated to a small town in Florida to enjoy a more rural lifestyle with her pets and family.
